Table of Contents
LCMS Components are the building blocks of the LCMS. They are based on the SCORM components. The content in the LCMS is arranged like this:
A learning resource can consist of Meta-Data, other learning resources and files (stored in a File Archive). Learning resources can be organized into Structures. A Structure represents an outline of learning activities. Learning Resources and Structures can be connected to Manifests. A Manifest describes an instructional object. For example a course, and can be packed into a Course Version. A Course Version is a SCORM Package Interchange File, which can be imported or exported from the system, or published to an IBM Lotus LMS. A Course Version can be unpacked into a Manifest and all the resources it describes. Course Versions of a Manifest are stored in a Course Package. A Course Package is the version history of a Manifest.
Files enters the LCMS either via unpacking an imported Course Version or uploading them into a File Archive via WebDAV. A learning resource can only use files from a single File Archive. A File Archive can be shared between learning resources.
